Library, Center for Urban History
During the Urban Seminar, Iryna Sklokina will share her experience of getting to know several public history institutions in the UK that deal with local heritage and culture, with a special focus on post-industrial heritage. Observations and interviews with employees aimed at understanding how museums interacted with their audiences, and searched for resources for development, and how they saw their place in the development of communities. The research is an outcome of the internship as part of cooperation of the Center for Urban History with St Andrews University in the project "De-industrialization and Conflict in Donbas: Capacity building in Ukraine to make Donbas (mono)towns inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable" (Grant by Global Challenges Research Fund).
The event has a format of a workshop, with the guest researchers to discuss academic projects and research works on different stages of progress, and of the completed projects prepared for print.
