Presentations of the REESOURCES Educational Platform in May
17.06.2024
In May, a series of presentations of the Center for Urban History's educational platform REESOURCES: Rethinking Eastern Europe took place at a number of German research institutes.
On May 6 and 23 – at the Center for East European and International Studies in Berlin (ZOiS), on May 29 – at the Center for Contemporary History in Potsdam (ZZF), and on May 17 – at the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies in Regensburg (IOS). Through these meetings, we present the latest developments of the platform to our colleagues and invite researchers whose research focus is on the Eastern European region to join the content and co-creation of the resource.
Ivanna Cherchovych, researcher and head of the Center's Educational projects, and Natalia Otrishchenko, researcher, joined the presentations.
The idea of the platform is to develop educational materials for university teaching of the history of Eastern Europe from the mid-19th to the early 21st century. Among the topics we aim to cover with educational materials are: Architecture, Art, Chornobyl, Commemoration, Culture, Displacement, Dissent, Empires, Everyday Life, Gender, Heritage, Holocaust, Industry, Infrastructure, Labor, People, Soviet, Travel, Urban Space, Violence, War . Each of these topics is covered on the platform by a set of educational materials: primary sources (documents, video, audio, and images), author's modules, online courses, silhouettes, and reflections.
We welcome researchers and professors, as well as graduate students, to contribute to the creation of the platform and encourage them to use the materials already prepared in their work with their students.
