Spatial

The Center also engages in projects that aim to research, reflect and also develop new urban spaces, which fulfill public, memorial, and educational roles in the life of the contemporary city. Our projects focusing on urban spaces vary in scope and approaches, ranging from discussions to workshops, from architectural competitions to spatial installations, from video and art works to memorial sites.

Exhibitions

Exhibitions as an important format of the Center’s public history program serve to bridge communication between diverse audiences, especially between professionals and the larger public. They offer different actors the possibility to engage in the production and sharing of knowledge. Our main goal is to balance academic and public forums in order to both preserve the complexity of issues, search for a balance between design solutions and public engagement.

Discussion Series

Various discussion formats and programs are organized and curated at the Center to enhance the exchange of different opinions, and to make visible the multiplicity of perspectives and voices. The format of round tables, working groups, discussions and presentations enables representatives of different spheres of public life to come together when they would ordinarily not have the opportunity to interact.

Unarchiving

[unarchiving] is a public history program based on the materials of our Urban Media Archive. This program promotes and mainstreams the challenges and topics critical in contemporary discussions of archival heritage and archiving as a heritagization process. We are committed to shape new attitudes on archiving and present historical collections in an unusual perspective.

Digital Storytelling

Digital storytelling is a publication format on the history of Lviv that was born within the "Lviv Interactive" project. It helps us to explore the urban space and the historical context through the narrative form, maps, and multimedia materials.
