From Peaceful Revolution to German Unity
November - December 2009
Exhibition Hall, Center for Urban History
To mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Center was hosting an exhibition of the German embassy in Kyiv
The fall of the Wall brought great changes not only to Germany, but also to all of Europe. The photos and images of the exhibition are a reminder of the peaceful revolution made by the citizens of the former GDR and the unification of Germany. Twenty posters and video installations tell the story of the self-democratization of the GDR and the solidarity between those in eastern and western Germany, leading to the overthrow of the dictatorship of the SED ruling party of the GDR.
