Courses
The Center attaches great importance to developing a teaching program for students and more broadly to people interested in exploring urban dimensions of the past, and the possibilities and challenges of digital and public history. As the Center for Urban History is not a teaching institution and does not grant academic certificates or degrees, the cooperation with universities and other higher institutions of learning is crucial for us. For the Center’s researchers the possibility to teach at our partner universities provides a unique opportunity to discuss up-to-date research on cities, digital history, and public history with student audiences and integrate the urban subjects in university curricula.

We have developed long-standing relationships with Lviv's Ukrainian Catholic University, Ivan Franko Lviv National University, Polytechnic University in Lviv, Kyiv-Mohyla University in Kyiv, Karazin National University in Kharkiv, and we are open to new partnerships. Each year, our researchers and guest fellows develop and offer courses at the Center open to students of different universities and to people who are not enrolled in university programs. Also, summer schools are an important part of our teaching program and offer a more complex learning format and environment. The Center’s library is critical for providing the newest literature relevant to the courses offered at the Center or in partnership courses and to the student projects. We are happy and honored to be a place for internships for undergraduate as well as PhD students. With the help of programs promoting international exchange and teaching, we were able to diversify and enrich educational opportunities. The Center regularly co-hosts Fulbright Program fellows, who teach seminars and courses either at the Center or in cooperation with us.
