Theater:InsideOut
April-November 2015
Drama.UA First Stage of Contemporary Drama (36 Horodotska St., entrance from the yard)
The Theater:InsideOut series of talks is an attempt to understand the multiple relationships between the processes that took place in the theater in the past, its current state, and future prospects in the light of human experience. At the same time we want to understand how the role of theater changed in the cultural life of the city and how the city changed under the influence of the theater. We will try to reflect and rethink the past theater in Lviv, also by referring to the collection of interviews "Theaters of Lviv in 1945-1985: Between Art and Politics" with members of the theatrical process and life in Lviv after World War II, which are in the Center for Urban History’s archive.
The talks will be held at the Drama.UA First Stage of Contemporary Drama (36 Horodotska St., entrance from the yard), which acts as a platform for reflection and formation of visions of theater in Ukraine. To participate in the discussions we will invite speakers and commentators from different environments who co-create theater and cultural life today.
