"NN Theater" in Lviv

Center for Urban History, Lviv
The play "Toibele and Her Demon" took place. Genre drama. Author - Isaac Bashevis Singer. This is a story about a young woman who is grieving the loss of her husband, and about her relationship with a melamed assistant who pretends to be a demon.
As in all the works of Isaac Bashevis Singer, this play surprisingly combines Jewish humour, rich worldview and the ability to make a seemingly banal story into something unforgettable that stays in the soul for a long time, that you want to reread or see in the theater. The story is funny and touching at the same time, written in a wonderful language with elements of Yiddish songs.
This performance is part of the "Brama Grodzka - NN Theater" Center's art project "Stories from the Gates", which combines elements of oral history, theater and storytelling.
