The History of the Holocaust on the Territory of Western Ukraine and Poland

The Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, in cooperation with the Belzec Museum of Remembrance, the Majdanek State Museum (Republic of Poland), the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and State Museum, the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe in Lviv, with the support of the American Jewish Committee and Claims Conference, conducted an educational-methodological seminar for lecturers in history and social disciplines for middle educational institutions in Ukraine.
The seminar envisioned lectures and discussions, as well as visiting places of memory that were connected to the tragedy of the Holocaust on the territory of Western Ukraine and Eastern Poland. The seminar agenda looked at the history and culture of Polish and Western Ukrainian Jews on the eve of and during the Second World War.
The seminar took place on the territory of Ukraine (Lviv) and Poland (Lublin, Belzec, Krakow). The seminar’s opening took place in Lviv.
