Mystetsʹka Biblioteka, Shota Rustaveli St, 8

Mystetska Biblioteka invites you to a joint viewing of an archival recording of the poet Yurko Pozayak's recital.

The event took place in March 1996 and was part of a series of literary meetings called "The Third Millennium" organized by Viktor Neborak at the Museum of Ethnography in Lviv in the second half of the 1990s. The program of this meeting included a reading of Yurko Pozayak's poetry, ironic wordplay between different languages, a discussion about pseudoscience, and finally a parody lecture. The video recording allows you to see not only the program itself, but also a preliminary survey of visitors by a TV journalist.

Yurko Pozayak is the poetic alter ego of Yuriy Lysenko, a teacher, translator, diplomat, and presidential speechwriter.

The video is part of the Viktor Neborak video archive, which was recently digitized by the Urban Media Archive of the Center for Urban History. The collection contains 150 hours of footage from literary events, festivals, performances, and concerts that took place mainly in the second half of the 1990s and document key figures of Ukrainian culture, the period of the fall of the USSR, the emergence of independence, and the phenomena and discourses that accompanied this time.

The largest part of the archive is the video recordings of the "Third Millennium" series of literary evenings organized and moderated by Viktor Neborak at the Museum of Ethnography from 1995 to 2000.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Center for Urban History.

We are grateful to Viktor Neborak and his family for opening the archives and assisting in their processing.
