The Jewish community as an integral part of the European city?

On July 12, 2012 in the conference hall of the Center for Urban History Dr. Vladimir Levin gave a public lecture entitled "The Jewish community as an integral part of the European City? Architectural dialogue in the capital of the Russian empire."

Dr. Vladimir Levin is the director of the Center of Jewish Art at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Current projects include "Synagogues of Volyn" and "Synagogues of Latvia." He is the editor of a catalogue of synagogues in Lithuania. His scholarly interests also include the history of Jews in the Russian empire.

The lecture was open to the public and took place in conjunction with the Third Summer School in Jewish History and Culture of East Central Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries.
